Meggan Monday: Almost time for Summer Camps
It is already May and that means children will soon be out of school for the summer.
It also means it is time to sign up for summer camps, if you haven’t done so already. Some camps fill up pretty quickly, so make sure your child has several options before you go looking for a camp.
For example, the Mary C. in Ocean Springs has camps for sewing, art, and printmaking if your child has an artistic side.
Lynn Meadows also has camps going on all summer, so even if your child is on a year-round school schedule, there are camps scheduled for their breaks as well.
Don’t forget the sports camps. From baseball to basketball to football, there are all sorts of camps on tap this summer, like the Ocean Springs High School greyhound mini-camp June 5th through 6th at Greyhound Stadium.
Or the Cheer Zone Athletics summer camps in June and July in Saucier, D’Iberville, and Gulfport.
Schools also offer summer camps from sports to STEM, from band to dance, ask your school about camps available this summer close to you.
Don’t forget, these camps fill up fast, so if your child is interested in attending, now is the time to sign them up.
