Meet Republican Senate candidates

With the general election coming up on November 6^th, South Mississippians will have the opportunity to meet Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by long-time U.S. Senator Thad Cochran.

It was announced at the Harrison County Republican Women’s Club this afternoon that Chris McDaniel will be at MGCCC at 6 p.m. on August 21^st.

Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, who was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant to Cochran’s seat, will be at the same location at 6 p.m. on August 23^rd.

The Democratic candidates for the U.S. Senate seat are Mike Espy and Jason Shelton. Following the election on November 6^th, a runoff will be November 27^th if needed.
