Meet the new city manager for Diamondhead
The City of Diamondhead rang in the New Year with the hiring of a new city manager. Michael Reso has been a resident of Diamondhead for more than 11 years.
Reso will work closely with the mayor and council and focus on a number of priorities set forth by the city such as a public safety, beautification, removing blighted properties and slabs, and economic development initiatives.
The last seven years Reso has worked as a financial adviser. Previously, he worked for St. Stanislaus College for 12 years as director of finance and advancement. “One of my skills that I developed was my ears. To really turn on the listening skills and shut my mouth, to really try to listen to the council on what their objections are, to listen to our community on their concerns and their objectives and their goals and try to unify and hopefully bring people together to accomplish the good for the community.”
Reso says he’s very excited about this new position and will have his desk all moved into city hall this week.
