Meet and Greet the Spirits with the Long Beach Historical Society

Tonight, the Long Beach Historical Society brought life back to a place known for being a final resting place.

Story tellers and re-enactors share the stories of those who have gone before us. Tonight, five storytellers shared pictures, facts, and history from Long Beach residents in their earlier days.

Over 30 guests listened to stories told about those who have made history on the Coast with some remembering their own family members or their neighbors. Re-enactor/ story teller Russell Jones said, “People seem to be very interested in learning about their town and their community and this is a nice thing to do around the Halloween holiday because it takes them to a place where everybody thinks is scary and yet we make it interesting. We fill them with history and we have a lot of fun with it.”

The Meet and Greet the Spirits event also helps prevent vandalism of cemeteries during Halloween season.
