MDPS hosts Fallen Officers Memorial Service
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety hosted its Fallen Officers Memorial Service.
The ceremony at MDPS headquarters honored all DPD officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, going back to 1940.
The names of each fallen officer was read during the ceremony and red roses were placed at the memorial by loved ones.
“It takes a tragic accident for something to happen to us. I’m very hopeful that never happens,” said Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann. “It’s funny about those blue lights, they represent a lot. They represent safety, security, integrity, help, assistance.”
