MDOT prepares for Winter Storm Fern
In the northern reaches of the Magnolia State, MDOT is preparing for Winter Storm Fern and the potential travel nightmare it may create.
Road crews have already prepped equipment and started stockpiling salt, sand, and asphalt slag piles.
Thursday, crews began spraying salt brine on highways and interstates north of I-20 after the rain moved through.
MDOT also encourages drivers all across the state to be prepared for winter weather by making sure your vehicle is properly maintained.
