MDOT finishes work on Highway 611 in Jackson County

The Mississippi Department of Transportation completed work on the second and final phase of a reconstruction project along Highway 611 in Jackson County.
MDOT crews worked to widen Highway 611 to five lanes from Old Mobile Highway to the end of the route near the Chevron Refinery and included railroad crossing replacements along with the relocation and reconstruction of several intersections.
The Mississippi Development Authority awarded funds to Jackson County to build this two phase project. Phase one included the construction of an interchange at Highway 90.
