MDOT Crews Clean Up Sand
Drivers can expect to see MDOT crew members clearing Highway 90 of sand for the next few days.
The majority of the sand was cleared on Sunday as crews tried to race against the storm.
A stretch of 90 in Gulfport near the v a was shut down after several incidents of vehicles getting stuck in the sand.
Crews will continue to clear the roadways from Henderson Point to the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge for the next few days.
M-DOT officials tell News 25 even though the bulk of the sand has been cleared drivers still need to be cautious.
“Just driving it today you can tell traffic is able to flow freely we don’t have any more areas that are closed off, and today we’re picking up what was moved to the side of the roads yesterday and getting the rest of the turn bays.”
– Anthony Ladd Assistant Maintenance Engineer, MDOT
M-DOT urges drivers to slow down and move over if possible while crew members clear the sand along Highway 90.
