MDOT announces ‘Star Spangled Sign’ contest for America’s 250th birthday

MDOT is celebrating America’s 250th birthday with a patriotic contest that could put your message on highway signs across the state.

The department is now accepting entries for its Star-Spangled Digital Message sign contest, inviting Mississippians to submit America-themed traffic safety messages for display during the Fourth of July holiday week.

Winning entries will appear on electronic message boards along Mississippi highways from July 1 through July 5.

The contest is open until June 15. Messages must promote safe driving, fit within the signs’ three-line format, and cannot include hashtags, websites, phone numbers, or emojis. For more information, click here.
