MDOT announces projects are moving along
SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WXXV)- The Mississippi Department of Transportation sharing updates to some projects across South Mississippi.
Major progress is being done on I-10 in Harrison and Hancock counties.
Crews are widening I-10 from four to six lanes from Diamondhead to County Farm Road.
The widening project is ongoing in both directions with paving underway on the westbound side.
On the eastbound side, stone is being placed and paving is in progress in Hancock County.
Two of the three bridges are complete with widening work on the bridges expected to finish by the end of the year.
In total, the project is expected to be completed by 2027.
