UPDATE: Greene County inmate recaptured

The Mississippi Department of Corrections, with the help of other authorities, captured an inmate who escaped from the South Mississippi Correctional Institution in Leakesville on Tuesday afternoon.

Drew Johnson, who is serving life for murder in Rankin County. He was sentenced on February 14, 2022.

Johnson was captured Christmas Day and returned to custody.
