MDMR offers free seafood safety training workshop for Mississippi seafood industry workers

The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is offering a three-day training workshop to help seafood industry workers strengthen their food safety knowledge.

Before that seafood makes it to your plate, there are critical steps designed to protect consumers.

MDMR is teaching those safety measures during its three-day basic seafood workshop.

Participants are learning how to identify biological, chemical, and physical hazards, monitor critical control points, and take corrective action when something goes wrong.

The course is free for Mississippi residents and those who complete it successfully will receive an Association of Food and Drug Officials Certificate.
