MDMR completes new larval grow-out building at Lyman Aquaculture Hatchery
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is celebrating a major milestone on the Gulf Coast.
The Lyman Aquaculture Hatchery has completed a new larval grow out building designed to strengthen marine stock enhancement efforts.
The new facility replaces a former wet laboratory that was severely damaged by Hurricane Zeta and demolished in 2022.
The new building will allow hatchery staff to raise marine fish larvae and juveniles in a facility designed specifically for marine aquaculture operations.
