MDCPS hosts job fair

The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services is looking to recruit hundreds of new hires through a series of job fairs held around the state.
Today, the department held one at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport. Recent graduates and experienced social workers are the dual focus of these career fairs. MDCPS officials are hoping to recruit individuals to fill the frontline social work positions as well as supervisory jobs in the newly created state agency.
Those hired will work directly with families while making a difference in children’s lives all across the state. MDCPS Employee Relations Director Shannon Rushton said, “These workers are really the frontline face of the department for child protection services. They are the ones that are helping protect the children day to day, giving the families the resources they need to be stable and for the kids to be able to remain in the home.”
If you weren’t able to make the job fair today, but would still like the chance to apply visit MDCPS.ms.gov and click on job openings at the top of the page.
