McKinnley Jackson dominates All-Star season

Now more than a month removed from his last game at George County perhaps no high school football player in America has improved his National Signing Day stock more since that time since McKinnley Jackson.

In December, the four-star defensive tackle was recognized as Mississippi’s Mr. Football for class 6A for an outstanding senior season with the Rebels.

Less than two weeks later, Jackson was named MVP of the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Classic for his dominating role in a come from behind victory.

Finally, the state’s top recruit introduced himself on the national stage during Saturday’s All-American Bowl, logging a sack and tackle for loss in the West Team’s 33-20 triumph.

Jackson says it is about time the Magnolia State got its due on the recruiting trail. “We show them what Mississippi is about. We’ve got some dogs here, but the platform isn’t like other states got. I wouldn’t say we’ve got the media attention like some other states got. We have talent here, like it’s a whole bunch of it. It just needs to get out. There’s a bunch of talented kids in this state, and just nobody knows about it.”

Jackson is still considering Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, having just received his 31st division I offer from Oregon earlier today.

He plans to announce his college decision during the February 5th National Signing Day.
