McHenry Arts and Craft Fair draws massive crowd Saturday

The McHenry Arts and Craft Fair drew hundreds of patrons to small businesses who set up shop Saturday.

It was a mild day as the community came together for Small Business Saturday to do some Christmas shopping.

Produce, hand-crafted goods, and hot food were the main attractions until 3 p.m. More than 100 vendors turned out for the day, doing face painting, personalizing handmade items, and even Dane the Balloon Man whipped up balloon animals for kids. “You know, the smiles on everybody’s faces, everybody being able to get out — the weather could not be better. It’s just, it’s been awesome.”

Rustic Goat Soap Owner Steve Scott said, “Everything is handcrafted at this event. Anything out here has been handmade. We’ve got stuff as far as woodworking, tie-dye, soaps, vegetables, pretty much anything you can imagine.”

Santa also made an appearance to take photos with families.
