McGilvary gets majority of the vote in Ward 4 runoff, with absentee ballots yet to be counted.

Rodney McGilvary leads Jamie Creel in the Biloxi Ward 4 city council runoff election after all election day votes were counted Tuesday night.

According to unofficial results, McGilvary leads Creel by nine votes, 452-443, with two write-in votes.

There are still around 17 absentee and affidavit votes yet to be counted.

The Municipal Election Commission will meet next Tuesday, July 16th after the counting of those absentee votes.

That’s when the race will officially be certified and a winner will officially be declared.
