MBI investigating officer-involved shooting in Senatobia

Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting with Sentatobia and Hernando police departments.

The subject involved was fatally wounded, MBI reports.

This is at least the 20th officer-involved shooting that MBI has investigated this year.

The incident happened about 4:30 p.m. Sunday near Gilmore Street in Senatobia, which is about 40 minutes south of Memphis.

According to other news outlets, a person committed a crime in another city and police pursued them into Senatobia, where an accident occurred, then a stand-off that ended in gunfire and the fatality.

MBI is gathering evidence and will share its finding with the Attorney General’s Office once the investigation is complete.
