MBI investigating officer-involved shooting in Gulfport
- The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-
involved shooting involving Gulfport Police .
the incident happened Saturday when officers responded to Church Street on a call for service.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a subject who pointed a weapon at the officers, who then shot and hit the subject.
Was seriously wounded and was taken to a local hospital.
The officers involved did not receive any serious physical injury.

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence.
Upon completing the investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
