MBI investigating officer-involved shooting in Amory
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened in Amory on Wednesday night.
MBI said Amory Police were called to Tschudi Street regarding a someone firing a weapon.
When officers arrived, the subject began firing at them. Officers returned fire, hitting the subject and killing him.
The officers were not injured.
According to the Monroe Journal, Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley identified the suspect as 22-year-old Shaqwan Cribbs, who lived at the Tschudi Courts Apartments, where the shooting took place.
MBI will share its findings with the Attorney General’s office when it the investigation is finished.
This is the 25th officer-involved shooting in Mississippi this year.
