Mayor Gilich Recognizes Group of Volunteers from Boston

After his event at the Hard Rock, Mayor Gilich made his way to the Biloxi Visitor’s Center to recognize a group of volunteers from Boston.
St. Mary’s volunteers first visited the Coast ten years ago to help with Hurricane Katrina relief. They’ve returned every year to continue helping anyone in need. This week they focused on landscaping and doing yard work around the Biloxi Visitor’s Center. Mayor Gilich stopped by to thank the group of college students for their hard work and dedication to the city.
Danny Berry, a volunteer with St. Mary’s, said, “I choose to do this because it’s so rewarding. It’s a great feeling after every day. It’s great to be with the people I love and create new bonds and help those that need it.”
St. Mary’s brought 165 volunteers total this year.
