May the Fourth be with You celebration at Lynn Meadows Discovery Center

Also celebrating ‘May the Fourth be with You’ is Lynn Meadows in Gulfport and they got the kids involved. Today, kindergarten students from 28th Street Elementary played around in arts and crafts making their own Yoda paper bag puppets.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., children played Star Wars trivia at the game show exhibit, aimed ahead in a Star Wars inspired Nerf battle and came in contact with a light saber.

The entire day was dedicated to teaching the kids their colors, shapes, and exploring into space. Lynn Meadows employee Jodi Dumond said, “It’s time for the kids to come in and have some fun, some little activities, shooting down some little bottles. They’re making Yoda puppets in the art studio, got some Star Wars music playing so just come out and have some fun. Learning about space in our space exhibit. Science in our science room. That’s what it is all about. That’s what we’re all about.”

Lynn Meadows’ instructors had their own fun dressing up in costume masks and enjoying the day.
