May 20 marks “National Kids To Parks Day”

Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and Oregon Senator Ron Wyden announced a bipartisan resolution to encourage children to get outdoors and promote healthy outdoor recreation.

Their resolution marks May 20 as “National Kids To Parks Day.”

First celebrated by the National Park Trust, the day marks the beginning of a summer-long series of events at state parks countrywide.

Senator Hyde-Smith said the day reminds everyone of the benefits of children spending time outside.

She says the entire state of Mississippi is full of parks and natural spaces for kids to play in and learn more about the world in.
