Massachusetts volunteers team up with Mississippi Heroes to build wheelchair ramp for local woman

A volunteer group from Massachusetts is helping to make a difference right here on the Coast with a mission of service and helping others.

Repair and Replenish Retreat Missions team partnered with Mississippi Heroes to help one local woman return home.

The work of giving back continued Thursday as volunteers with Repair and Replenish Retreat Missions joined Mississippi Heroes to build a wheelchair ramp for 64-year-old Marilyn.

Marilyn has lived with epilepsy for most of her life. After battling lung cancer and later undergoing brain surgery following a brain cancer diagnosis, she is now recovering from a stroke.

She is currently staying at Woodland Village Nursing Home in Diamondhead and cannot be released until a wheelchair accessible ramp is installed at her home.

Thanks to the volunteers, Marilyn will soon have the opportunity to safely return home and continue her recovery.
