Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum holding $10,000 Drawdown

For the 36th time, the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi is holding its $10,000 Drawdown.

It is scheduled for this Saturday, September 18th at the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum in Biloxi, beginning with cocktails at 6 p.m.

In an effort to insure the safest possible experience for guests, this year’s event will take place on the front deck and lawn of the museum.

Tickets are being sold throughout the Coast by members of the museum and at the Maritime and Seafood Museum.

Each $100 ticket is good for two people. It comes with food, an open bar, door prizes, and a chance at winning $10,000.

The drawdown is the museum’s major fundraiser of the year. Corey Christy with the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum said, “We’ve missed out like everyone else over the last year and a half due to COVID and people not coming out. So, this is great to help us get back to normal. We’re doing it as safely as possible so we’re doing it outside and you’ll also be able to view it on Facebook if you want to. We wanted a way for everyone to participate, keep it safe, and hopefully get us rolling in the right direction.”

There’s also a silent auction happening now online that will end at 8 p.m. the night of the event.

The money raised goes into the museum’s operation funds and helps them put on the community events they do throughout the year.
