March of Dimes Honors Local Volunteers

Thursday night, the March of Dimes held its 10th Annual Spotlight on Success, an event which honors the hard work of volunteers from around the Coast.

About 300 people attended the sold out event at the IP Resort and Casino. There was also a silent auction, which attempted to raise nearly $67,000 for the March of Dimes in south Mississippi. The non-profit group provides low cost healthcare to babies and expectant mothers.

Jennifer Parker of the March of Dimes says, “We have some amazing programs here in Mississippi. Here locally, we have the Mom and Baby Mobile Unit. Currently, it sees 168 patients that are moms in need along the three coastal counties.”
