March of Dimes fundraising season

Save the date! On April 21st, thousands will be trekking through Point Cadet in Biloxi to support the health of all mothers and babies.
The annual March for Babies is the primary fundraiser for the March of Dimes, an organization that aims to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.
The sold-out fundraiser kickoff event is set for this Thursday, but the March of Dimes wants community and business leaders to know that they need additional support to meet their goals. Bridget Turan with the March of Dimes Mississippi said, “We like to use the acronym ‘CARES’ which stands for community, advocacy, research, education, and support. That’s kind of a few ways that March of Dimes executes their mission throughout the state and throughout the nation. We have our signature fundraiser. It’s been around for 80 years. It’s the March for Babies event. Our goal for South Mississippi is $155,000.”
