Man wounded in shootout with Hancock County deputies
A man wounded in a shootout with Hancock County deputies has been flown to a local hospital for treatment.
Hancock County Chief Deputy Jeremy Skinner said deputies were dispatched to a home in the Kiln around 7 p.m. on Monday for a disturbance call.
Skinner said that as deputies pulled into the man’s driveway, he began firing shots at them so deputies returned fire.
The agency confirmed the man suffered a gunshot wound and is in stable condition.
No deputies were wounded in the shooting and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation will review the case.
