Man who fled traffic stop in Ocean Springs in custody

The Pascagoula Police Department has taken the man who fled from Ocean Springs officers when they tried to stop him for a traffic violation in custody.

According to Pascagoula Police, the Pascagoula Crime Suppression Unit and Criminal Investigation Unit received information that the suspect was at an apartment complex in the city. He was taken into custody without incident.

Deputy Chief Steven Dye said Alex Daniel fled from officers who tried to pull him over near Ocean Springs Hospital on Wednesday night. Spike strips were deployed after a chase began and when those worked, he fled on foot near the YMCA, leaving a female and a child in the vehicle.

Daniel was wanted by Ocean Springs on a felony eluding charge.
