UPDATE: Man who dumped objects in Pascagoula River now facing federal drug charges

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WXXV)- A Mobile County man is facing federal drug charges after a chase that went through Jackson County this morning.

Jackson County Sheriff’s investigators tell us Letonyeo Watson is now being held for the FBI on those charges.

Watson began to flee from Jackson County drug interdiction unit deputies this morning on I-10 east.

When the chase approached the I-10 Pascagoula River Bridge, the suspect started to throw objects into the water.

The chase continued into Mobile County, Alabama where Watson was taken into custody.

Sheriff’s deputies had to search the waters below the interstate for hours today to recover those objects.
