Man wanted in connection with Gulfport shooting

Gulfport Police Department needs help locating a man wanted in relation to an active shooting investigation.

Forty-four year-old Ricky McDonald is believed to be connected to a shooting that took place Sunday evening on the 600 block of 3^rd Street in Gulfport.

Gulfport police responded to the scene of a shooting complaint and found one adult male suffering from an obvious gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he received treatment for his injury.

The investigation revealed the shooting was the result of an altercation that took place between the victim and McDonald. Neighbor Donna Craig said, “I think it’s ridiculous for people to do that. There has to be something wrong with you to do something like that. It’s just scary to know how that goes along. It’s like road rage. People get crazy over stupid stuff.”

Gulfport police say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
