Man wanted for arson and murder expected to be on the Coast
A man is wanted after shooting his girlfriend to death at their Atlanta home, leaving her body inside the house and then setting it on fire this past Saturday. Now, police believe that the suspect who is a South Mississippi native might be hiding out on the Coast.
News 25’s Veronica Bayona spoke to the daughter of the woman who was killed about her mother’s tragic death.
“He took my family from me and we let him be a part of our family and he ruined it.” On January 2011, Amber Holliman picked up her stuff from her Mississippi home and moved to Atlanta with her daughter, Payton, and Patrick Nolan, the man now accused of her death. “He was weird. It was like he would be your best friend and the coolest guy you ever met one second and the next minute he was an animal.”
According to Holliman, Nolan was most erratic while he was drinking, something he had previously attempted to quit, but was recently once again struggling with. Officers said Nolan killed Holliman then set her house on fire before grabbing his dog and taking off. “Like her whole life was me, like she did everything for me and it was always her and me and she would hold my hand when I was little and tell me it was me and her against the world.”
Now 18-year-old Payton Holliman is forced to tackle life on her own. “Like, I’m still a kid you know. I just turned 18 and I am having to deal with all of this stuff and I keep wanting to call my mom and ask her what to do and I can’t because she’s not going to answer.”
One of Holliman’s co-workers, Katie Allen, has now set up a GoFundMe page for her to help with funeral costs, college, and more. “It’s just really hard because she was my best friend, you know. Like, I told her everything and we were inseparable and I don’t have that anymore. I don’t have my one person.”
Police say Nolan is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous and may be driving a blue 2006 Ford Explorer with Georgia tag PYZ1420.
If you have any information on Patrick Nolan’s whereabouts please contact Detective J.T. Williams at 404-456-9343.
