Man struck and killed on Highway 53 in Harrison County

A man was struck and killed yesterday in Harrison County while trying to cross a highway.

According to Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer, 78-year-old Ervin Moore of Gulfport was struck by a pick-up truck at 2:10 p.m. on Highway 53 and Cable Bridge Road on Monday.

Moore was pronounced dead on scene from blunt force trauma, a toxicology report is underway.

The incident is still under investigation by Mississippi Highway Patrol.
