Man Struck and Killed by Gulfport Police Vehicle Identified

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove has identified the man who died on Highway 49 south of the I10 overpass after a Gulfport police officer struck and killed him in his patrol car. On January 19th, Hargrove says 54-year-old Edgar Lambert Jr. of Bossier City, Louisiana died due to massive blunt force trauma. Authorities do not know if he was living in South Mississippi.
The Biloxi Police Department and Hargrove took over the investigation after the district attorney assigned it to them.
