Man sentenced for July 2021 shooting

A Gulfport man pled guilty to the July 2021 killing of Raheem Ramsey.
Terrence Hayes Jr. was 19 at the time of the shooting and pled guilty to second-degree murder.
Hayes was sentenced to 40 years in custody.
The case began when Gulfport Police responded to a parking lot on Courthouse Road, finding Ramsey’s car crashed into a tree.
Ramsey was found shot and an employee at a nearby business gave police the car tag Hayes fled the scene in.
