Man pleads guilty to DUI causing death in Harrison County
Twenty-eight year-old Michael Kennedy of New Orleans pled guilty today to DUI causing death.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred in March 2017. Kennedy is responsible for the death of 21-year-old Robert Ivey.
The defendant had to bypass an interlock system installed in his car due to a prior DUI arrest.
Kennedy is sentenced to 20 years behind bars due to his criminal history and the fact the defendant bypassed the interlock system in his vehicle that was designed specifically to prohibit this type of conduct.
