Man Jumps in Gulf after Breaking into Car
Biloxi Police arrested a Long Beach resident after allegedly breaking into a woman’s car and jumping into the Gulf in an attempt to flee the scene.
Twenty-four year-old Corey Rashad Moore was located inside the Beau Rivage and arrested for auto burglary. Police say the suspect smashed the side window of the victim’s car in a parking lot off Lameuse Street around 4 o’clock this morning.
This spike in car thefts does not surprise the Biloxi Police Department. Lieutenant Christopher De Back said, “It is around the holidays that we do see a spike traditionally and we just ask that if somebody sees anyone suspicious walking around cars to give us a call. We’ll check them out and as far as their own property, please secure it.”
Moore is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
