Man injured in drive-by shooting in Gautier
Gautier Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that injured a man Thursday night.
About 8 p.m., police received multiple calls about two vehicles firing weapons while driving on Louis Alexis Trail toward Homestead Boulevard.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who had been wounded by gunfire. He was taken to Singing River Hospital, where he was listed as serious but stable.
Several homes also were damaged by gunfire, but no other injuries were reported.
Officers gathering evidence at the scene identified possible suspects. Gautier is following up on those leads in an effort to identify all individuals involved.
No arrests have been made, but authorities expect charges to be forthcoming.
“I would like to thank our Gautier Police Department for their quick response, and I would also remind our citizens to stay vigilant,” Mayor Casey Vaughan said. “Always report suspicious activity to local law enforcement. Our officers are working around the clock to ensure the safety of all Gautier citizens.”
