Man in custody after police standoff at Biloxi condo complex
A man is now in custody after a multiple hour standoff with Biloxi Police at the McDonnel Square Condominiums.
Biloxi Police say it all began around 10:17 AM on Friday when officers responded to reports of someone threatening another person in the condo complex. Officers attempted to speak with the person but he was uncooperative and refused to leave the unit. Negotiators were called on scene in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. Eventually officers breached the condo and made contact with the person, who was then transported to an area hospital for treatment.
No injuries were reported to the individual, residents, or the officers involved. The scene was cleared around 1:45 PM.
WXXV was there before, after, and during the situation and has exclusive footage of the apprehension and the condo where it all went down. Video can be seen of a large mess inside the area where the person was held up, and it is unclear if this was a result of police entering the unit or if it was like this beforehand.
We’ll keep you updated with any further developments on this case.
