Man hits cars in Walmart parking lot in Gulfport
Gulfport police received reports of a front end loader vehicle running into other vehicles in the Walmart on Highway 49 yesterday.
Gulfport police arrested 32-year-old Shaun Stroud of Kiln, charging him with two counts of aggravated assault, grand larceny, and two counts of felony mischief.
When officers arrived, they found Stroud driving through the parking lot striking four vehicles, two 53 foot utility trailers and then ran into the Walmart lawn and garden center. Once spotted, he turned into the Nissan dealership parking lot and continued to hit other cars. The man tried to run on foot from the police, but was captured and taken into custody. Two victims were sent to Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.
Police say Stroud gained entry into Gulf Recycling and took the 2008 John Deer front end loader. His bond is set at $550,000. The cause for his actions is still under investigation.
