Man found dead on the beach in Biloxi

A man was found dead on the beach in Biloxi Saturday morning after drowning while wade fishing.
According to Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove, 20-year-old Gunner Batia of Vancleave was wade fishing, but his waders were not secured tightly enough and they filled with water causing Batia to drown.
Hargrove says two women spotted a fishing pole in the water and then found Batia’s body and pulled him to shore.
His death is ruled accidental and is under investigation by DMR and Harrison County Coroner’s Office.
