Man dressed as woman steals credit cards in Hancock County

A Mobile man dressed as a woman is making his way through the Coast and stealing others identities.
Hancock County investigators say 25-year-old Mykiea Miller is dressing up as a female and using stolen credit cards and identifications taken from residents’ homes throughout the county. The suspect is believed to put money on gift cards from the stolen credit cards, then open up a layaway, go to a different Walmart and try to return the layaway items for cash.
When authorities first reviewed surveillance they thought the suspect was female, but he ended up giving away his identity. Hancock County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigator Anthony Gambino said, “They provided a name to the Walmart to open the layaway and since they do not require ID to open up a layaway, we believed at first it to be fictitious. Throughout our investigation we were able to 100 percent identify this person as the person who opened the layaway.”
Investigators say during one of the burglaries the suspect stole a gun and could be armed and dangerous. If you know where Miller is you are urged to contact the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department at 228-466-6900.
