Man denied bond in Saucier shooting
A Saucier man accused in the shooting death of his son and another man remains behind bars tonight after Judge Bruce Strong denied bond.
Billy Jack Roberts will now face a grand jury.
Court papers say Roberts was trying to protect himself during a fight when he accidentally killed two-year-old Chance Roberts while firing shots at 20-year-old David Garcia in self-defense.
Roberts told a sheriff’s investigator that the Brawl escalated from an argument over Garcia being accused of dropping his baby daughter.
Roberts is facing murder and manslaughter charges.
