Man charged with voyeurism in store restroom

A Guatemalan national was arrested in D’Iberville on Thursday morning, charged with voyeurism.
Chief Shannon Nobles said 20-year-old Jesler Jairo Perez was charged with three counts of voyeurism. He was taken to the Harrison County jail and bond was set at $75,000, but he is being held without bond on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.
Nobles said D’Iberville police officers responded to Walmart on Sangani Boulevard about a complaint of person in the women’s restroom.
Officers said a parent at the store said her daughter and two other female juveniles went into the restroom and saw what they thought were male feet in the stall next to them. Then one of the girls said she saw a man looking under the stall into their stall.
The girls ran from the restroom and notified the parent, who then entered the restroom and opened a stall to find the suspect in the process of securing his pants.
A store patron heard a commotion coming from the restroom and when they checked, was told of the incident by the parent. The store patron then detained the suspect and held him until officers arrived.
