Man charged with sex crime against child extradited to Hancock County
A Hancock County man is in jail facing a sex crime against a minor.
Sheriff Ricky Adam said 61-year-old Donnie Thomas was arrested Tuesday on a charge of sexual battery. He is in the Hancock County Jail under a $25,000 bond.
His court date is set for October 17th.
Adam said the assault on an eight-year-old girl came to light during a domestic argument. Afterward, the spouse reported it to Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and an investigation led to a warrant for Thomas’ arrest.
He fled to Louisiana where he attempted suicide, Adam said. He was arrested in Louisiana and extradited back to Mississippi and charged on Tuesday.
