Man charged with felony DUI

A Gulfport man is behind bars for a DUI, but he won’t be getting out of jail anytime soon.
According to Gulfport police, 38-year-old John Wesley Carter was arrested during a traffic stop after 3 a.m. Sunday on Gulf Avenue and 26th Street.
Authorities say Carter had two previous convictions for DUI and a warrant was obtained for Carter’s arrest on the charge of felony DUI.
Carter was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
