Man arrested for shooting in Jackson County

The suspected shooter in what’s believed to be a drug deal gone bad over the weekend has been arrested.

Sheriff Mike Ezell says 29-year-old Johnny Levy was arrested Monday night after the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department got a tip from someone saying Levy was outside his house in Biloxi.

Levy is charged with aggravated assault. He’s accused of shooting 19-year-old Kevin Ott once in the chest Sunday in a St. Martin store parking lot. Levy is jailed without bond.

A 15-year-old was also allegedly involved. He is charged with transfer of a controlled substance and is in the Jackson County Youth Court.
