Man arrested for theft of statue in Hancock County

HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- A statue thief in Bay St. Louis has been taken into custody after the Hancock County Tourism Development Bureau reported the loss of a seven-foot statue.

Clint Jones of Saucier was found to be the suspect and was found at his home with the help of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office and the Bay St. Louis Police Department.

Jones is charged with petit larceny.

The statue has been returned undamaged to the Hancock County Tourism Development Bureau.
