Man Arrested After Fleeing From Police in Biloxi
An 18-year-old man is behind bars Tuesday morning, charged with felony eluding after fleeing from police and ultimately crashing into another vehicle.
According to Biloxi police, 18-year-old Cristofer Olega Sandoval-Lopez of Biloxi fled in a vehicle from an officer with the Biloxi Police Department who was attempting to conduct a traffic stop yesterday in the 2400 block of Beach Boulevard.
He was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of traffic before driving over spike strips, losing control of his vehicle and crashing into two civilian vehicles travelling in the correct lanes of traffic. Police say no officers were actively pursuing Sandoval-Lopez, but spike strips were laid out in an attempt to stop him.
Sandoval-Lopez is charged with felony eluding and is being held at the Harrison County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
