Man arrested, charged with murder in Moss Point

MOSS POINT, Miss. (WXXV)- A man has been arrested and charged with murder in Moss Point.

On May 31, Moss Point police officers responded to a medical emergency at Lily Circle. Upon arrival, officers found 33-year-old Jamal Johnson unresponsive. Medical personnel located a stab wound on Johnson’s abdomen. He was transported to Singing River Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Johnson succumbed to his injuries the next day.

During the investigation, officers learned that Johnson was in an altercation with a suspect identified as Nelson Webb III.

Moss Point officers returned to the area after receiving a tip that Webb III had returned to the area. Officers searched the home and found Webb III hiding inside.

He was arrested without incident and charged with the murder of Johnson.
